The division treats all urologic conditions while training outstanding residents and fellows.

Research efforts contributed to advancements in the early detection of prostate cancer, and faculty have led major studies discerning the most appropriate treatment for these patients. Surgeons continue to refine efforts to diagnose and treat this cancer.

Division faculty and nursing leaders play a major role in safety efforts for the Department of Surgery. Urologic surgeons have worked closely with colorectal surgeons to trailblaze protocols that reduce surgical site infections. More recently, they have made strides in reducing readmissions.
